For 700 years, the main entertainment in Rome was fights to the death between gladiators, or between gladiators and wild animals. Learn about the different kinds of gladiators, how they fought, and what could be done in an amphitheater.

Wonderfully clear & informative exposition of a fascinating subject. The illustrations are somewhat amateurish (limited command of drawing) but adequate.
