The book is horrible! It is very different than the movie. If this book would've ever filmed, it would not be in the same category as "Drake and Josh", yes, that's how bad it is that even Drake and Josh are making more sense than that novel. The book is full of sexism, racism, ethnocentrism, and ableism. After reading one of the chapters I flipped the book over and looked at the author's picture asking myself if this guy ever had experience of sex with a woman, seems like he doesn't know stuff he is writing about. Anyway, run reader, run from this book.

The book was well-written in the voice of Gump and his Southern accent. It was definitely a lot different than the movie which made more logical sense than the book did but a fun read nonetheless.

If you're thinking of reading the book, don't. I can honestly say the movie is better. Plus, the book's narrator (Forrest Gump) has annoyingly bad grammar and miss-spells everything!

I liked the movie better because a lot of things happened different but the book was funnier

Different from the movie in significant ways, and not at all what I expected. Forrest is not as likeable as Tom Hanks in the movie; however, the book is still engaging and fun to read.
