Although I found this book to be a little slow at first one the pace picked up it was a fascinating story. The story is told from the viewpoint of a middle-school aged boy which I really, really liked. A love story between two adults from a young man who's sexual identity is virtually non-existent was quite refreshing and funny.

I didn't see the movie and I probably won't see it because I don't want to ruin what I have envisioned in my mind. Great story. I'd recommend it to any of my friends.

I really liked this book much more than I thought I would. I really related to the mum's faults and unapologetic attitude and I think Kate Winset was a very good choice to pay her in the movie.

This book was much better than I anticipated - I only read it because it was my book club's choice this summer. The characters' decisions and the resulting consequences stayed with me for days.

I loved this book. Beautifully written. Likable characters. I thought the relationship developing between Adele and Frank was lovely. It's one of those books that you know isn't going to end well... but I actually really liked the ending. A great read.

Nice story, easy read. Midway through the book Frank teaches Henry to make a peach pie - it made me actually want to try to make the pie crust too. A wonderful narrative description of how to make a peach pie, mmmm mmmmm.

After seeing the movie I wanted to read the book. The movie did a really good job of portraying the book. I liked the book more just because it provided more backstory that the movie couldn't have done.

In both the book and the movie I thought the romance between Adele and Frank was a little rushed and unexplained, but it is portrayed as it is seen through the eyes of Henry so I guess that's understandable.

I would actually say that this is more like a YA coming of age book than an adult romance type novel. If you're looking for a romance book I wouldn't necessarily recommend this one.
