It's a fine film, good acting, good casting . . .it's just not Moll Flanders! Not even an attempt to stay close to the story line . . what's with that? At least give it a different title!

No masterpiece here. Not critically acclaimed, and honestly, the story can be a bit melodramatic and trite at times. Nevertheless, it's not without merit. I've always liked Robin Wright, and she handles the lead role very well. She's gorgeous, she's intelligent, and she's strong. And who doesn't like Morgan Freeman? He's just so damned NICE! A story of survival against undeserving and unbearable hardship in an inhospitable 18th century England. Good ending.

Moll Flanders (praying, in church): "If God made me in His image, shouldn't my ideas and thoughts be like His?"
