I haven't been able to get hold of this book; but judging by other readers' comments, I'd cite this as a warning not to look too closely at timelines. If Aubrey was the Pym twins' older brother, and Aubrey's son is the father of an 18-year-old daughter, then either both Aubrey and his son produced offspring rather late in life, or they stopped aging for a few decades.

Applying the same logic to Ms. Shepard herself: If Lori's mother was a grown woman during WWII, and 21st-century Lori is now in her thirties, when was Lori born?

As much as I typically enjoy Atherton's stories, this one felt more like a travelogue meets a very easy treasure hunt. There were few surprises - Atherton seemed quite delighted to describe every new place Lori visited in great detail but it unfortunately did nothing to add suspense or even much interest. Hopefully the next Aunt Dimity offering will be a little less predictable.

Lori Shepherd solves her fair share of mysteries and crimes from her small corner of the world in the tiny English village of Finch. Communicating with her dead "Aunt Dimity" by writing in a journal, she manages to get to the centre of many mysteries. A lovely, cozy mystery series, the first of which is Aunt Dimity's Death.
