I loved this story with full of imagination. I wish I had this book when I was a kid. As a parent, I'm happy to have discovered this book for my kids. We read it every other night and talked about what kind of garden we would like to have.

For this young female narrator, dreaming of a fantastic backyard garden complete with color-changing flowers, jellybean bushes, and hundreds of butterflies turns the mundane task of helping her mother maintain their real-life backyard garden into a dreamy, paradisiac mental retreat. Lush, inspired illustrations easily whisk readers into this world of limitless imagination.

Excellent example of getting into the head of a child and what they'd think qualifies as a cool garden. My three-year-old didn't choose this one, but has requested having it read to her every other night or so. Illustrations are fun and colorful, though very pastel, so may appeal more to a girl audience.

I would like to grow yummy things like the girl in the story does. I would like to eat the chocolate rabbits too.
