To fully appreciate The Lost World one must imagine themselves seeing this silent film through the eyes of audiences from back in 1925.

This ambitious film was the first screen adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story of prehistoric creatures still alive on a remote Amazon plateau.

This skilfully crafted adventure tale is quite remarkable for its special effects that recreate fantastic dinosaurs encountered by an expedition in an uncharted land.

An incredibly accurate visualization of prehistoric animals considering the preliminary state of scientific knowledge in the early 1900s. As usual, Wallace Berry delivers a fine performance as the tough guy you love to hate. The commentary adds interesting depth to the screenplay. Conan Doyle's book is one of my favourites for his 'visual' writing and fast-paced narrative (especially considering it was written 80 years before "Jurassic Park").
