Loved this movie! My brother told me a bit about it and I knew how it ends, but anyway, I usually prefer to know what to expect from a movie, otherwise a sad end leaves me with a heavy heart. So I knew that it had a September 11 touch to it, but I absolutely loved every second of that film. Made me cry a lot :D Never have heard of R.Pattinson before, now I know he is a big star :D, what a stellar actor he is! Loved loved loved, loved it so much that the coming night I was dreaming the plot with myself in the movie :D Do not ask which role, can't recall now:D

I REALLY wanted to like this movie! After seeing the film and watching the "Making of " feature afterwards, I realized why it felt so choppy and immature. Throughout, I felt like a stranger who had walked in on what appeared to be a private conversation, and having overheard, was trying to piece together the background. The only character that seemed to be fully developed was Tyler; everyone else was characterized through his eyes, so that they were all one-dimensional. Ally's story and her relationship with her father did not fit the rest of the movie.
Taking the last 10-15 minutes along with 2-3 scenes from earlier in the movie would actually make the powerful and poignant statement the writer was trying to make.

Loved the movie. I agree with a the some comments here. It's not about "liking" the ending. It's about family relationships and we all deal with tragic events differently.

Enjoyed this movie, it is about everyday life and dealing with the life we are given. Ending was very unexpected and sad.

good love / drama story, with a twist at the end. Very unexpected.

Not a big fan of Pattenson but he did good job.

I absolutely adored this movie. I think the ending was brilliant and if you think otherwise you obviously missed the entire point of the film, and on a greater scale - of life all together. There is a ton to be said on the amazing acting in this film, Pattinson, de Ravin, Brosnan, the list goes on and on. Every single person in every scene in this movie you can tell wants to be there and is in love with the project and bringing a sense of realism to it. One of the best and most understated movies of the year for sure. How this wasn't nominated for any awards escapes me. Proves that Pattinson is going to have to fight against the same prejudices that Leonardo D had to to prove himself just because of one teenage sensation - shame.

A modestly entertaining story of family dysfunctionality and love pursuits. Although I did not like the ending.
