Interesting how corporations are poisoning us. Appears as though corporations expect to pay fines which is less of a cost than clean up or control of their waste. Lots of cancer deaths from chemicals we use for convenience. Only watched first disc.

An excellent documentary on the corrupted American corporate world. A caveat: This movie only tells a piece of the problem. Yes, the American giant corporations gave a very low wage to third world labours. But, this is the third world politicians who made it happen. Yes, the American giant corporations produced a lot of pollutions. But, who turn on air conditioners, drive instead of taking public transportation, eat buffet with a lot of left over; look at how much garbage an household dump every week. Having said, this documentary organised some facts about the corrupted American corporate world. In conclusion, everyone of us should stand up & refuse silence.

A thought provoking look at the role corporations play in our lives - many times without us being aware of it. The film touches on subtle marketing strategies, the role of the corporation as a "person", and the privatization of what most of us consider basic human needs like water, for example. I really enjoyed the points made to make us think about what we as human beings on the planet want for ourselves and our future generations.

Pretty good movie, as Bakan's book was pretty good, but the best understanding of this is to be gotten from an economist like Michael Perelman (The Invention of Capitalism). Corporations, today in America, are simply institutionalized mayhem and murder as corporations from oil companies, softdrink companies and Big Agra routinely hire assassins to murder labor organizers and protestors. (Important to understand that it is no coincidence that London is the speculators capital of the world, while the oldest continuous existing corporation is the City of London Corporation.) And the ultimate corporation? The major banks which have concentrated ownership of the rest of the major corporations!

Ten years I've had to wait to see this.

The content is worth seeing, but we might need new copies of the DVDs due to wear and tear.

It can be a bit dry in places but I totally recommend it to everyone.
I watched it over the course of a couple nights. It really is a message that must get out to everyone!!

Fairly sterile way to throw ALOT of information at you, but it gets the job done. I now understand that "conspiracy-theorist" kid back when I was younger. This 2-disc Special Edition, with hours of extra stuff is the one to watch.
We are the 99%......

5 of 5 stars. This eye-opening, no-nonsense documentary shows how a legal structure affects our lives and negates our democracy. Yup, if corporations are people, then they are sociopaths. Can we end corporate personhood?
