Add a CommentThe between the numbers books are lighter versions of the Plum novels. This one features Diesel -- the alien? as do the others. Having him in the story adds a new dimension as he definitely has some unusual skills. I do not enjoy him as much as I do Morelli and Ranger, though.
It was entertaining to read about Stephanie visiting Atlantic City with Connie, Lulu, Grandma Mazur and some other quirky characters. A fun read!

Definitely not my fave of the J.E./Plum books. These books seem like a money grab to me - just toss the faithful a book to keep the happy until the next release.
Definitely a "between the numbers" Stephanie Plum novel, just like it says in the title. Extremely short. Choppy, Gr. 2 level sentence style. All the standard characters doing all the standard stuff: Grandma getting into trouble, Lula wearing tight, neon spandex, Steph getting her car blown up and Ranger saying "Babe". Now, I love all this stuff - honest I do! But there was no reason to write this book. There was absolutely nothing to it plot-wise and the humour was merely cute and not too funny. (I have been known to snort my milk while reading Stephanie Plum novels so let's just say the earlier books are fall-down-on-the-floor laughing kind of books.)
Anyway - read this one if you like but you're not missing a thing if you don't.
