I suppose this pulls in much of Heinlein's standard interests & stylings, but I just didn't find it that enjoyable a culmination to his career. Perhaps his acerbic style stands out better in work that isn't ostensibly comedic to begin with.
A thoroughly enjoyable sci-fi romp with Schroedinger's cat.
I found the sexual tension in the dialogue rather charming, and the dystopian future not without veiled social commentary, and not entirely unbelievable, either.
There came a time in Heinlein's career when he was so venerated by the public the publishers didn't edit when needed and he, himself indulged in endless vapid sexual innuendo dialogues .... this is one example. Maybe a good plot submerged in there somewhere, but so lost in RAH's anachronistic attempts to forward sexual enlightenment as to render the entire work a piece of second-rate creation unworthy of him when he was a good writer.
What can be said about Robert A. Heinlein that hasen't been already been said. The man writes damn good science fiction. this is one of his best.
Excellent sci-fi thriller, keeps you thinking.
" when in trouble, run in circles scream and shout!"
