This book is kind of readable, the author managed to change well-known legends in her own way. But it is very poorly written. The characters are supposed to be living in Middle ages but behave like modern teenagers from dysfunctional families - rolling eyes all the time, etc. The speak like modern teenagers too, though not with words "whatever, like, awesome", but still.. It is really hilarious and stupid that the author abuses archaic words "mayhap, hark, alas" alongside with obviously modern sounding conversation of characters, I guess trying to create the atmosphere of those times but fails miserably. anyway me and my daughter laughed a lot about all these "harks" and "mayhaps".
