Maybe I'm a jerk, but I didn't feel that sorry for him. He comes off as a bit self-absorbed and self-pitying.

Loved it. I've faced my own failures in this life, and I love the way the author talks of coping with his. Beautiful book; one of my favourites.

CLE writers will be consoled by this memoir of a young author and his trials and tribulations. Afterall, it's better to be broke in CLE than NYC -with the success factor less of a measure here :) Will make me reread Bonfire of the Vanities.
