John Corey returns in the new novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Nelson DeMille. Anti-Terrorist Task Force agent John Corey and his wife, FBI agent Kate Mayfield have been posted overseas to Sana'a, Yemen, one of the most dangerous places in the Middle East. While there, they will be working with a small team to track down one of the masterminds behind the USS 'Cole' bombing: a high-ranking Al Qaeda operative known as The Panther. Ruthless and elusive, he's wanted for multiple terrorist acts and murders, and the US government is determined to bring him down, no matter the cost. As latecomers to a treacherous game, John and Kate don't know the rules, the players, or the score. What they do know is that there is more to their assignment than meets the eye-and that the hunters are about to become the hunted.

Another great John Corey thriller. Loved the action and the author’s sarcasm.

I like John Corey and his antics, that's what makes him John Corey.
The added history of Yeman was a bit tedious, too much, though I did like the fact that Demille throw in the Paul Brenner character.stories. I find myself laughing at and with John Corey, so thumbs up to Scott Brick.

I agree with CookingFrog, I couldn't finish this book. I even wondered how Scott Brick got through it. I became really tired of the glib, silly comments by John Corey, like every other sentence!! who kept calling others ***holes. In my opinion, "he" is the ***hole in this book. I gave up near the end. My only hope was that Corey's wife divorced him when they got back to the States!! Sheesh.

Long, winded, plotless spy novel. Written by Demille? his worst ever book then. Repetitions galore, bad jokes, sexist comments. So old, corny and predictable. Very disappointing and complete waste of time. Who edited this?

Another wonderful DeMille book. A strong story with a surprising twist at the end. Also has a good share of dry humor. Highly recommend, 9 of 10 for me.

This novel would be much better if it were half as long than it is. There is too much minutia to care about with some obvious plots before slowly and finally gotten to. 4 of 10 stars
