Permaculture goes well beyond setting up sustainable home farming systems--taken at the deepest levels it can inform social activity of all kinds. Peter Bane's extensive experience editing Permaculture Activist, one of the primary trade journals for permaculturists, provides a strong sense of the connections with other areas of life, as well as considerable detail of land planning and use. Highly recommended--I bought my own copy!
