Two girls, one spoilt but unloved, one semi-feral, in a grim North of England town in the seventies commit an act of careless atrocity. The careful detailing of their cold little lives combined with inevitability and pointlessness of their act is not for the faint of heart. Haunting.

Disjointed with a very contrived feel; ends with gratuitous violence. Photo on cover is best part.

This book was listed in a magazine and given 4 stars. I am so sorry that I wasted time on my vacation reading this! The book has characters and situations that have absolutely nothing to do with each other. It is extremely disjointed. It was like reading 3 seperate books. The ending was gruesome and unnecessary. Don't waste your time!
