I am a fan of Colin Farrell but this movie did not live up to my expectations :(
I found it a bit boring, had a hard time believing that the two main characters were in love since that part progressed too quickly, I was confused by Will Smith's character, etc. I could go on about the disappointments. In my opinion it's not worth sitting through again.

I really love romantic movies!! But the problem is that not all the love stories easily enter my heart.. I think that the best romantic movies are the Indian ones. Anyway this love story is not that good to me, maybe because they make it in a fantasy way.. I don't know why but I didn't have any impulse to complete the movie. All the characters are boring, especially Peter Lake!! And I found it pretty weird what Beverley did when a thief entered her house.. she asked him if he wants a cup of tea!! I give this movie 4.5/10 and it is a PG 13 movie. - @rahmamawlood of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

This is a 2014 American supernatural fantasy directed by Akiva Goldsman, based on the 1983 novel of the same name by Mark Helprin.
The storyline is contrived in such a confusingly complicated way that the film seems to have ended in a profoundly mangled happiness---if NOT in a gratuitous happy ending.
The flying horse is not impressive at all and looks rather childish in a primitive computer animation.

So much of the book is left out that I don't think this movie makes sense if you haven't read the book. But if you have read the book, the movie is just a shadow of it. I enjoyed it but wish a better movie had been made of this wonderful book.

The concept would probably make a better book than it would a movie, as it was the story felt a bit rushed. Not a terrible movie, and an interesting concept though

A creative epic of good and evil hid behind layers of love and time, Winter's Tale surprises with its own originality and passion. An unusual twist . . . and the movie writhes full of them . . . provides a tender yet unforeseen finale. The actors, ranging from Russell Crowe, Colin Farrell, and Jessica Brown Findlay to William Hurt and Eva Marie Saint, provide the energy deserving of any film with such a magical white horse. Will Smith plays a devil of a role, too. At the box office, the story came and went, but luckily HCL had it on a "just returned" cart when I discovered it. That cart provides its own magic for me just like this time with this gem.

I couldn’t get through this movie, good actors just a boring script. Rather than fast forwarding I turned it off.

BEVERLY: When true love is lost...life can bleed of all meaning. We are left blank. But the possibility of destiny remains. What we are meant for may yet be discovered. And once in a very long while... that journey to find our destiny may defeat even time itself.

Pearly: I'll tell you something that should chill your blood. No matter how far we tip the scales our way... no matter how many of them we turn dark... nothing seems to break their capacity for hope. They pass it back and forth like the flu at a preschool fair.

Ending narrative BEVERLY: Why would so many things conspire to save one little girl's life? But what if it wasn't just Abby? What if she is no more or less special than any of us? What if we are all unique...and the universe loves us all equally? So much so that it bends over backwards across the centuries...for each and every one of us. And sometimes, we are just lucky enough to see it...No life is more important than another. And nothing has been without purpose. Nothing. What if we are all part of a great pattern that we may someday understand? And one day, when we have done what we alone are capable of doing...we get to rise up and reunite with those we have loved the most...forever embraced.

What if we get to become stars?

We are all connected. Each baby born carries a miracle inside. A unique purpose and that miracle is promised to one person and one person alone. We are voyagers set on a course towards destiny, to find the one person our miracle is meant for. But be warned: as we seek out the light, darkness gathers and the eternal contest between good and evil is not fought with great armies... But one life at a time.
