A CBA Bestselling Author Amish fiction favorite Suzanne Woods Fisher brings her fans back to the beginning of Amish life in America with this fascinating glimpse into the first ocean crossing as seen through the eyes of a devout young woman and an irreverent man.Anna König's first encounter with the Scottish ship's carpenter is anything but pleasant. Anna is on the Charming Nancy to ensure the safe arrival of her loved ones to the New World. Hardened by years at sea, Bairn resents toting these naïve farmers -- dubbed "Peculiars" by deckhands -- across the ocean. But as delays, storms, illness, and diminishing provisions afflict crew and passengers alike, he finds himself drawn to Anna's serene nature.

The book is terrible, I almost did not finish it. I was wondering if it was really Suzanne Fisher who wrote the book as the style is so different from her other books.
No plot, I skipped probably 1/3 of the beginning.
I would not recommend this book if you liked her previous ones.
