Annie Harlow knows how lucky she is. The producer of a popular television cooking show, she loves her handsome husband and the beautiful Los Angeles home they share. And now, she's pregnant with their first child. But in an instant, her life is shattered. And when Annie awakes from a yearlong coma, she discovers that time isn't the only thing she's lost. Grieving and wounded, Annie retreats to her old family home in Switchback, Vermont, a maple farm generations old. There, surrounded by her free-spirited brother, their divorced mother, and four young nieces and nephews, Annie slowly emerges into a world she left behind years ago: the town where she grew up, the people she knew before, the high-school boyfriend turned judge. And with the discovery of a cookbook her grandmother wrote in the distant past, Annie unearths an age-old mystery that might prove the salvation of the family farm.

What a wonderful book. This is the first book I've read written by Susan Wiggs and I really enjoyed it. It's a story of two people who met when they were still in high school and fell in love but somehow couldn't get their lives moving in the same direction. It was an easy, delightful read. I found myself not wanting to put it down so I read it fairly quickly. I would recommend reading this book if you're in the mood for something on the lighter side.

I absolutely loved "Family Tree"! Annie awakens after a year-long coma kept her life on hold. This book tells her story from her teenage years to how she got where she was and how she lived her life starting from scratch. Cooking was her and her Gran's life and she took those moments in the kitchen into her future. This story is about lost loves and new futures. Just tugs at the heartstrings.

I started off quite enjoying the story but then I felt it dragged on.

Family Tree is a good read, it's just not an exciting one. I already figured out how it would end, I only had to finish reading it to see how it was accomplished.

Predictable but a great read.

Simple story that's very predictable. Preview inside the cover made it sound more interesting and deeper than it really was. The book is all Annie - her family is just a small part in the background, and there was no mystery. A lot of chapters are in the past during Annie's teenage and college years. OK if you're looking for something light to read.

Wow! This book rocks!!! Annie, the main character, finds out that things change the dynamic of the family when a tragic event occurs. Well written and spell binding. You wont want to put this one down.
