A favorite since I was a kid. Nicely illustrated imaginative journey of a small carved native canoe. From waiting for spring thaw while stuck in a snow bank in remote northern Ontario, to reaching the mouth of the St Laurence river, we follow the realistic, if somewhat contrived, adventures of the toy boat and learn something about the geography of the great lakes waterways at the same time.
This was also done as a short movie which was shown every year or so when I was in elementary school. Back in the days of the frequently breaking film projector....
