The six-member crew of the International Space Station is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.

The kind of movie you can watch again and again... because it's so forgettable.

"Smart people doing incredibly stupid things" sums up the characters and plot as well as the cast and crew making this mess.

ALIEN but with a more contemporary/scientific focus. None of the characters in LIFE are compelling. There's is no Ridley to be found here. The film is close to a dud. But I liked the "will-to-live" statement being made.

If you have a choice between watching the original Alien and this film, go for Alien. I was tempted to give it an extra star for the ending that supports Murphy's Law. It nearly had a "Casablanca" type ending.

What's with all these octopus-like aliens (e.g. Arrival); are they more intelligent than earthlings?
Have fun watching the principal actors being digested/regurgitated...yum! No spoilers here:
who's last ?

I thought it was an entertaining alien movie.

Overall, the comparisons to the Alien franchise is obvious, for me it went to J Carpenter's version of the Thing fairly quickly. A galaxy of holes in the plot led me to cheering for Calvin as he removed one astronaut after another like a slasher cleaning out a cabin full of obnoxious kids. Check out "Sunshine" (2007), at tad more enjoyable for my viewing enjoyment.

Great premise, poorly executed. Get out, Disengage now!! Pay check is a pay check for an actor, right? So let's get started: it's predictable. This movie highlights how 'hollywood NASA' has lowered the bar for scientists to be intelligent, raised the bar for good looks and again lowered the age/life experience requirement to be an astronaut (actual prime candidate is ~40). This 'valley /peak\valley' of bar shifts ironically traces the 'W' shape; the first letter in the WT...PH? phrase you'll be jokingly questioning your T.V.. My mind feels really let down after watching it; you think this is a game and you're playing me? Mindless fun if you want to turn your brain off and need the white noise of professional dummies begging for help grasping at straws while you fold laundry, otherwise give me the crew of the 'Nostromo'. It's best you know the truth so at least you are okay with the deficiencies.

Like others, observed that this is basically a variant of the seminal 1979 Alien film with a few different twists that led to a preposterous end, pining for a sequel like the Alien franchise. Nonetheless, a watchable survival and horror sci-fi about another version of life in the universe.

this is from NASA command. I don't know why I have to keep going over this but in the event of meeting an extraterrestrial life-form please do not poke it with your finger or play handsies with it. Be safe and we'll all stay alive. Thank you. That is all

Firewall One was the box. And Firewall Two was the lab. And Firewall Three is the station. But we have a new firewall.
- What are you saying?
They don't know that. And if Firewall One or Two fail, they have two choices. They can contain, or they expel.
We're not blood-filled meat puppets. I come from a long line of plumbers. I can fix a shower. If I can't... Well, Hugh doesn't shower anyway, he's British.
- First international incident.
I'm not being critical of you. You're just a very under-bathed nation. Everybody knows it.
Life's very existence requires destruction. Calvin doesn't hate us. But he has to kill us in order to survive.
