Boring. Cliche. Too many average ideas. John Cena is very likable, but as he admits "I wouldn't call what I do 'acting' !"

Billed as the prequel to all prior Transformers films, a scout autobot was sent by Optimus Prime to set up a refuge base to regroup on planet earth. There, a mechanically inclined teenager found the autobot and fondly named it Bumblebee. Thanks to extensive interactions between humans and transformers, the story is engaging and fun to watch. For action sci-fi junkies, the special effects are not frantic but visually natural.

Note: A couple of clips related to the original 2007 Transformers during the end credits, well done. Minimal cussing AND with zero F-bomb.

Definitely for the youth, but was quite unhappy with so much cussing.

It was mildly entertaining. The movie would probably appeal to the much younger crowd.

This movie is one of my all time favourite movies of 2018. In this movie Hailee Steinfeild, a famous pop singer plays the main role in this movie, along with bumblebee. This movie is based in the late 1980s. Bumblebee comes from another planet, and came to earth to find refugee. Charlie one day finds a yellow car in a junkyard and decides to fix it in her garage at home, but little did she know that yellow car is bumblebee. In this movie, Charlie helps bumblebee, and keeps him safe. Together they both come together to defeat the ones that are standing against bumblebee. This movie is full of action, and comedy. If your someone who likes action movies, then this movie is perfect for you. The graphic designs, and the technology used in this movies makes bumblebee and other fictional characters really realistic. This movie definitely deserves a 5/5 stars. @bluesky of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

Bumblebee is one of my favourite movies because I’m a big fan of the Transformers series. What I like about this movie the most is they dedicated a movie just for one of the main characters of transfers to tell everyone how he came to earth and how everything leading up to the current transformers movies happened. I also like this movie because it didn’t just give a backstory of one character it gave a back story on the transformers home as well and what happens to it. Without giving any spoilers, this movie is about a transformer named bumblebee trying to live in the world with humans without them even existing something like him is real. He hides as a car but one day he met someone that will change him for ever in a good way, but they face many challenges along the way. A lot of people might think this is a children’s movie but I would disagree and say that it is suitable for all ages because it is really exciting to watch and kept interested throughout the whole movie. for those reasons I would have to give this movie a 5/5 rating. @Teen15 of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

I like the part that the heroine refused to be bullied into jumping off the cliff even though she is more than capable of doing it. At the end of the day, being called a coward or chicken is really no big deal.

I'm glad I didn't go to the theatre to see this. And some consider it to be the best Transformers movie?? Says a lot about the franchise...

Mission to planet Earth:

We will fight on, but we must find refuge first. I've found a planet that's well hidden. Earth. You will travel there and estabilish a base for us. Once we've gathered the others, we'll join you. You must protect the planet. If the decepticons find it, then our people are truly finished. Now go!
