From the New York Times and international bestselling author of Sometimes I Lie comes a brand new, highly anticipated, dark and twisted thriller: I Know Who You Are. Meet Aimee Sinclair: the actress everyone thinks they know but can't remember where from. Except one person. Someone knows Aimee very well. They know who she is and they know what she did. When Aimee comes home and discovers her husband is missing, she doesn't seem to know what to do or how to act. The police think she's hiding something and they're right, she is--but perhaps not what they thought. Aimee has a secret she's never shared, and yet, she suspects that someone knows. As she struggles to keep her career and sanity intact, her past comes back to haunt her in ways more dangerous than she could have ever imagined. In I Know Who You Are, Alice Feeney proves that she is a master of brilliantly complicated plots and killer twists that will keep you guessing until the final page.

At the beginning, I did not want to put this one down. It had many elements of true crime that kept me captivated. I did not expect the ending. Side note, I actually put this down in the middle (especially the divorce part). I started reading another book and then got hooked back to this.

Feeney stands out in a crowded thriller field - her plotting strikes a great balance, not too abstruse and not too obvious; her writing style is engaging and elegant at times, with the "match cuts" between chapters and tiny echoes of language which keep the reader's feeling that *something* is going on just beyond our senses.

I finished the book last night, and I'm still a little twisted up about the ending. Surprise is an understatement. It is worth the read, though - you just have to get through the first 50 or so pages before it really hooks you. I do think it is important to include some trigger warnings, but I'll keep them vague an as un-spoilery as possible.

TW: sexual assault, child abuse.

I read about one-third of this book. I just could not force myself to continue. The thought process of the main character was very far-fetched and the story outlandish. It is unlikely a mentally disturbed or a traumatized person would think like this character. A total waste of time to continue.

Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alice Feeney is the master of illusion...the Houdini of fiction!

Aimee is on the verge of success in her acting career...her latest film might just be the one to propel her onto the A List. Her personal life, however, is in shambles...her husband is missing and the police are treating her more like a suspect than a concerned wife. Is she being framed? Or did she actually have something to do with his disappearance...professional actresses can be very difficult to read...

As the police investigation gathers steam, Aimee has to stay on the sidelines watching as her personal and professional reputations are torn to shreds. Who would do this to her? What could their motive possibly be? Alongside grown up Aimee, we also learn about a young girl that trusts the wrong person and lives to regret it...but just what do these two story lines have in common?

PROS: You will have absolutely no idea about the ending...I will be incredibly impressed if you can guess it!

CONS: I Know Who You Are seemed to drag a bit for me in places...and there was one thing in particular that was quite far fetched...but it’s fiction after all - as long as you go in with an open mind it will be fine!!!

YES or NO: It’s a somewhat hesitant YES - I absolutely loved Feeney’s debut novel Sometimes I Lie, so I had high hopes for this one...it wasn’t quite as good, but I’m still a fan!!

Stretches credulity, even amidst the increasingly credulity-stretching twisty mystery genre...but good fun!

This is my second book I’ve read from this author. Right from the start this one carries you along for a wild ride! Some insistence’s seem implausible but they make for an entertaining story! In this case I feel the author has done her job!
