This book is absolutely phenomenal. The writing is perfectly descriptive and so fun to read, the main character never gives up, the setting is so engrossing. This is a book in a magical world where the main character never gets powers!! There's a system of magical libraries full of living spellbooks, all with their own personalities. I absolutely loved every second of this book and can't wait for others to read it. The title and synopsis don't express anywhere near the amount of awesomeness this book contains.

A Must-Read Young Adult pick. Fans of “An Enchantment of Ravens,” prepare for Margaret Rogerson’s next imaginative book! When apprentice librarian Elisabeth is implicated in sabotage that released the library's most dangerous grimoire, she becomes entangled in a centuries-old conspiracy that could mean the end of everything.

This was an amazing book! A lot of dark magic, action and just a touch of romance to lighten up the story! Also as a Library technician I loved the use of magical books, and magical libraries it was a dream come true!

Loved this book! This enchanting YA fantasy is truly magical. Like her first book, Enchantment of Ravens, this skillfully written book will appeal to both teens and adults.

The bar set by Margaret Rogerson’s first book (An Enchantment of Ravens) was incredibly high, so I will note off the bat that I don’t think this quite measured up to that (for me, at least – your mileage may vary). However, that disclaimer out of the way, I will say that I found this to be fun, page-turning, funny, romantic, all-around smart fantasy – and the fact that it appears to be a standalone, rather than a series-opener, earns it some extra bonus points from me. I’m pretty sold on her as a writer and will undoubtedly be picking up whatever she writes next.
