The four largest remaining jungles of the world--the Amazon River Basin, Borneo, Papua New Guinea and Central Africa--contain a vast assortment of unique plants and fascinating insects, and more species are still being discovered. Species are also disappearing quickly as habitats dwindle due to human activity. Learn about carnivorous plants that trap and eat insects and small mammals, and deadly poisonous plants that have been used by humans for hunting and other purposes. The world's jungles have trees and flowers not found anywhere else on the planet. Discover swarming insects that live to attack prey, and bugs with bites that transmit severe tropical diseases that are sometimes deadly.
