If ever there was a bona fide, real-life "Hollywood-Mother-From-Hell" - I'd say that Joan Crawford would definitely be that woman in the flesh (at least, according to Christina, Joan's adopted daughter, she was). Published back in 1978 (one year following Joan's death at age 73) - "Mommie Dearest" certainly gave Christina the perfect opportunity to royally rake Joan right through the coals and (publicly) exact her revenge against this woman for being written out of her will. If you have ever seen the 1981 screen adaptation of Christina's "tell-all" book - You'll soon realize (after reading this lengthy printed account) that the events surrounding Joan's alleged bouts of physical and psychological abuse against Christina, and her brother, Christopher, were certainly toned down considerably for the movie version of "Mommie Dearest".
