The Mystery of Lewis Carroll

Discovering the Whimsical, Thoughtful and Sometimes Lonely Man Who Created Alice in Wonderland
Dec 09, 2017
(*Lewis Carroll quote*) - "If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there." Born in 1832 (the eldest of 11 children) - Lewis Carroll (birth-name - Charles Dodgson) was an English writer, mathematician, logician, and photographer. Carroll is, of course, best known for his fascinating work of fiction titled "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" which was first published in 1865. It was a delightful tale of adventure that quickly went on to become a bona-fide classic in children's literature. Competently researched and written by Jenny Woolf - This biography of Carroll (who never married) is an in-depth character-portrait that closely analyzes many of the contradictory aspects of Carroll's sometimes puzzling personality traits. (*Note*) - In 1898 - Lewis Carroll (65 at the time) died of pneumonia following a severe bout of influenza.
