This was a very unconventional mystery, if it can be called a mystery at all. There are elements of the supernatural or spirit world, con-man activities and more...that lead to murder. It was written in an omnipotent-narrator style. The author even explains the thoughts of characters. While it is different from earlier volumes in the series, I thoroughly enjoyed the author's weaving of a tale involving Charlie Moon, his friend Police chief Scott, his aunt Daisy and his pseudo-niece Sarah.
