Historical fiction is a favourite genre and I am intrigued by the emergence of novels focused on trying to illuminate the stories of women married to famous men. The afterword outlines the possibilities around Mrs. Einstein's contributions to her husband's work and in general the novel provides some insight into the time period and the role of women. I'm sure historians would find fault with inaccuracies, but if this leads people to do some research on their own to draw their conclusions, it's not a wasted effort. I didn't feel as drawn into the story as I would have liked because the inner world of the protagonist wasn't as developed or compelling as it could have been, however there were some decent moments.
