For a fan of Ambler, Greene, Maugham, Le Carre, Furst and Steinhauer, I found "The Saboteur" to be a very pale imitation of greater espionage novels. Character development is weak... dialogue is unrealistic... and the melodramatic plot devices are ridiculously predictable (I actually laughed out loud at some of the twists and turns awkwardly inserted into this real life story). Try reading the giants of this genre.
